CLASS OVERVIEW

BRIEF NARRATIVE

In 7th Grade U.S History you will exploring the beginnings of America and its growth throughout the North American Continent.

We will begin our journey with the Geography of North America and the affects it has on people. Our journey will continue with interaction of Native Americans and European settlers and continue up to the breakout of the Civil War.

We will be overviewing and learning historical concepts like geography, politics, arts, government, economic, social (GRAPES). In addition, we will be viewing different perspective from all people in our nation history. The narrative of America has many journeys and challenges that still affect us today.

MR. RODRIGUEZ BIO

Hi! My name is Mario Rodriguez, and I’m the 7th grade history teacher. This will be my fourth year at SBECA. I been teaching history for five years and pervious worked as an archivist at American Yacht Club (Rye, NY) as my last profession.

I attended Lehman College for BA in History and received my Master’s in Social Studies Education (7-12). I’m a lifelong learner and one of my goals is earning Special Education certification. I’m always open to new ideas and love to collaborate to accomplish our goals and the needs for our students. A fear that I hope to overcome is uncertainty and the unknown, it’s a bit scary but fear I’m working on.

When I’m not at SBECA I enjoy cooking gluten free meals (I have Gluten allergy), walks by the beach, greenery, parks, (anything nature), watch or attend soccer matches (GO NYCFC), reading novels or The Economist.

MR. ADOLPHUS BIO

Hello SBECA Family! I am one of your 7th grade History teachers. This is my third year at SBECA. Most people call me Mr. A.

I completed my B.A. in History at Lehman College. I also earned two Masters Degrees from Lehman College in History and Social Studies Education. I have teaching licenses in Social Studies and Special Education. I am currently enrolled at Lehman College and pursuing my certification in School Building Leadership. I am a passionate lifelong learner.

When I am not teaching, I enjoy watching and supporting my local New York sports teams. I enjoy Italian food and perfecting my craft.

I am pleased to be your 7th grade History teacher this year :)
